Morse training equipment 90 - RAY-9RI; manufactured by HB9RI, Ray Ebnöther, Zurich.
In 1990, new equipment was purchased for pre-military training and Morse training in the signal schools; the old Zellweger tone generators Fk Ue G dating back to the forties were replaced by modern solid state sets.
The solid state Morse training sets in a sturdy metal cabinet have an internal oscillator, but the sound can also be fed from a computer. The pitch and volume can be adjusted, and a small integrated loudspeaker also allows you to listen in.
The output of the tone generator is fed via cables with 6.3 mm plugs to distribution rails, where all course participants can plug in their headphones. The old army Morse keys have also been converted to 6.3 mm jack plugs.
The set is built using solid state technology.
The Morse training device was developed by HB9RI and manufactured in small badges.
The Morse training set 90 was mainly used in the EVU's pre-military Morse courses, which were required for being drafted as a radio operator in the signal troops.
