+====== SE-111: Small Decimeter Station "K-Dm" ======
 +**Small decimeter station**; manufactured by Hasler AG, Bern.

 +In 1941, a low power radi oset operating in the UHF range was developed by the Bern based company Hasler AG and was introduced with the troupe in 1942/3 after some problems with the early sets have been cured. Since the device with the odd-shaped antenna could only used for point-to-point - coommunication in optical distance, it was used only in isolated occasions.

 +===== Operation =====
 + The manpack set is built into a sheet steel cabinet, it can be operated with an accumulator pack or from a pedal generator.
 +
 +The double-quad antenna is plugged in the socket on top of the cabinet. A canvas pocket is used to store the accessories, the hand microphone, throat microphone and the headphones.
 +
 +The few control elements are located on the right front side, the measuring instrumentcan be set co control the valve heaters and plate voltage.

 +==== Development ====
 + After in 1938 experiments with a decimeter device made by the German company Lorenz, it was apparently the "Elster" set, had been done, the KTA in 1941 made a contract to construct a portable one - channel decimeter set with Hasler AG in Bern.
 +
 +==== Mission ====
 +From the decimeter station "K Dm", 42 sets of tha manpack variant with internal designation H223b and 30 sets of a slightly bigger but technically largely identical set with the internal designation H249 in a die-cast housing for use in fixed installations in fortresses "(K-Dm fortress") were acquired.
 +
 +The "K-Dm" decimeter station was introduced with the troops in 1942/3 and came out of service around 1950.
 +
 +The manpack station was used by Fk Kp, the K-Dm fortress station with it's remote double quad antenna for fixed connections between artillery bunkers. In 1978, this material was also liquidated.
 +
 +Almost at the same time, Brown Boveri got a contract to develop the higher powered decimeter station "TLD" ("Portable Light Decimeter"). Because for this microwave station only a very small number of multi-channel interfaces were acquired, this station met hardly any higher requirements than the "K-Dm", so even this station was mainly used for individual "point-to-point" connections.
