 +The [[Zellweger]] Company, based in Uster, did develop the **Funkstation Kurz Lang 43** (Short Long Station 43) based on the components of the [[SE-300|FL40]] (Mobile Light Station 40) in the years 1943/44 to replace the Telefunken Short- / Longwave Station [[SE-217|Kurz - Lang - Station / D-Station]], of which because of the World War II, Telefunken was not able to provide a sufficient number.

 +Now, the call for a motorized radio station was heard at [[Zellweger]]. In fact, the [[SE-300|FL40]] was mobile, but a separate vehicle was needed to tow the trailer. So [[Zellweger]] developed the **Motorized Radio Station M44**.\\

 +The **Motorized radio station 44**, abbreviated M44, is a wireless station built into a Berna truck. It consists of the transmitter and receiver components of the FL40. Thanks to the power supply from a built-in car generator and the roof antenna, the station can be operated while driving.

 +The station is quite similar to the [[SE-218|Short-long station 43 / "G-station"]] of the Air Force; in contrast to the KL, the standard components of the normal [[FL40]] with their frequency range were used.

 +The **transmitter** is the reliable [[S-300|FL40 transmitter]], similar to the [[SE-218|KL43 / G-Station]], the transmitter is installed in a steel tube frame.

 +The frequency ranges 190-240 / 240-400 / 400-715 kHz in the longwave range as well as 1.5-2.3 / 2.3-3.3 and 3.3-4.5 kHz in the shortwave range are covered. By means of a quartz crystal, the transmitter can be calibrated on the frequency of 4000 kHz.

The vehicle is equipped with a three-piece L - roof antenna to operate thestation on the move. For shortwaves, a 14 m crank mast Magirus, similar to the one found in the [[FL40]] is used, and for fixed operation for shortwave a 8 m  and for longwaves 50 m long wire antenna between two 10 m masts is used.

 +Von der Funkstation M44 wurden 1943/44 vier Stationen entwickelt und zu einem Stückpreis von 105'000.- Fr. der Truppe "zu Versuchszwecken" übergeben, sie wäre Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs zur Beschaffung in grösserer Anzahl bereit gewesen.
